Full Description

Badly eroded gritstone milepost, c. 1.1m high with a triangular cross-section. Two of three sides are inscribed: 'SHEFF / 13' and 'MANC / 25'. Situated on Telford's 1818 Sheffield-Glossop Turnpike. (1) In December 2002 the damaged milestone was measured at 16½ inches wide, 13 inches deep (across the front) and with a visible height of 22 inches. (2)
