Abstract/Summary

Evaluation at the northern and southern ends of the proposed route. At Alvaston excavation revealed post-medieval or modern boundary ditches, and evidence for ridge and furrow cultivation but no subsoil, suggesting the land was predominantly under pasture during the Medieval period.
