Abstract/Summary

Trial trenching and open area excavation on former Vulcan Works foundry site, associated with rolling stock manufacturer G R Turner, and dating from 1874. Remains of flues, power transmission, machine bases and a press were identified, along with evidence for phasing in the expansion of the foundry.
