Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the site of a proposed new bridge. It identified remains of the 19th century Bakewell Gas company works, established by 1850. A series of walls, and a chimney stack with associated flues was encountered, along with the arched opening of a former boiler.
