Abstract/Summary

A report on a phased evaluation comprised of a watching brief and a strip map and sample evaluation carried out in advance of a proposed large residential development. Pits associated with 19th to 20th century clay working, and 99 bell pits associated with post-medieval coal extraction were recorded.
