Source/Archive record SDR24857 - Excavations at Brassington Lane, Old Tupton, Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Report on a relatively complex series of works, beginning with an evaluation comprised of the excavation of seven trial trenches between 20-25 February 2017. This was followed by a strip, map and sample exercise carried out between 6-17 March 2017, targeting two of the earlier trial trenches. That work was then followed by the excavation of a particular area between 20-31 March 2017. Extensive medieval features were recorded throughout these works, dating from the 11th to 16th centuries.
