Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

There was a pottery in what is now the Limeyards. There is almost no trace left of this, it having nearly all been quarried out, but pieces of pot can still be seen in the dump. The pottery was working at the end of the 17th century and into the early 18th century and was run by at least two generations of the Cox family before the quarries exended this far. (1)
