Mount Pleasant Farm farmhouse, Middleton and Smerrill, a 19th century building. 'Mount Pleasant Farm, Middleton and Smerrill. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. The farmstead is formed of a regular courtyard with multiple yards and additional detached elements to the main plan.The farmhouse is detached with gable on to the yard. The site is in an isolated location. with one or more of the structural elements dating to the 18th centuryThere has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 16 SE PARISH OF MIDDLETON AND SMERRILL 1/36 Mount Pleasant Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. C19. Coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings, plain coped gables, kneelers, end ridge chimneys and stone slated roof. Two storeys, three bays, with stone framed C20 windows, Central doorway with quoined surrounds and flat hood on moulded brackets. Lower two storey range attached at south west end with tall stone end ridge stack and stone slate roof. Listed for group value only. Listing NGR: SK1906761914.' (5)
