Lychgate, St Laurence's Church, Station Lane, Walton upon Trent, built c1899. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 21 NW PARISH OF WALTON-UPON-TRENT STATION LANE 2/53 (North Side) Lychgate to East of St Laurence's Church GV II Lychgate. C1899. Timber and red brick with stone dressings, plus plain tile roof with belled eaves and carved, pierced cusped bargeboards. Short brick side walls have chamfered stone copings and double wooden gates between the knob finials to main posts. Timber superstructure above has open grid side walls, buttressed by curved braces, and cambered tie beams with cusped braces below and open timberwork above. Eastern tie beam is inscribed 'Erected by his parishioners and friends to the memory of the Rev Frederick Colborne Fisher MA RA Rector of this parish 1860-1899'. Included for group value only.
