Railings and gates at former Highfield School, Wellington Street, Long Eaton, built in 1911. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF LONG EATON WELLINGTON STREET SK 43 SE 4/52 (West Side) Railings to Highfield Infant and Junior Schools GV II Railings and gates. 1911. Art Nouveau style. Cast iron and brick with terracotta and stone dressings. Railings run round three sides of a large square enclosing the two schools. Deep brick plinth with moulded blue brick copings and square piers at regular intervals with terracotta cornices below stone copings. Rails have nailhead-type tops and to the centre of each set of railings is a decorative panel with scrolled ironwork to top. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK4831934755.' (1)
