Full Description

Gate piers, gates and boundary wall, Buxworth Hall, Off New Road, Chinley, of 18th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 08 SW 3/89 PARISH OF CHINLEY, BUXWORTH AND BROWNSIDE NEW ROAD (North Side) Gate piers, gates and walls to Bugsworth Hall GV II Gate piers, gates and walls. C18. Gritstone ashlar and rubble. Cast iron. Square section ashlar gatepiers with moulded cornices. Above ball finials on pyramidal bases. Gates - rectangular with six vertical bars to top, twelve below. Wavy linking bars at top and middle. To either side of gate piers rubble walls with moulded copings. On top, iron railings with arrow and urn finials. Rectangular piers with ball finials at each end. Listing NGR: SK0208382234.' (1)
