Gates and walls to west side of cemetery, Packhorse Road, Melbourne, built c1860. From the National Heritage List for England: 'This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 24 October 2022 to correct a typo in the description and to reformat the text to current standards SK 38/3925 6/143 PARISH OF MELBOURNE PACKHORSE ROAD (East Side) Gates and Walls to West Side of Cemetery GV II Cemetery gates and walls. c1860. Rock faced stone, partly rendered, with ashlar dressings and iron railings. Low rock faced walls with chamfered plinth, triangular sectioned copings and simple scrolled railings to top between stepped sections of walls. To centre there are two pairs of rendered piers with large triangular sectioned copings topped by fleur de lys finials, to either end of curved rendered walls. The walls are stepped down to the centre and have sections of railings similar to those on the flanking walls. Plain iron gates to centre have fleur de lys finials. Included for group value only.
