Abstract/Summary

Report on a historic building survey, carried out between 2022-2023 over two buildings formerly belonging to a Silkolene factory. At least one of the buildings was originally built as a hosiery warehouse, before being converted into an oil refinery in the 1930s. The buildings are of mid-19th century date. The survey included map regression, documentary research, and a detailed photographic survey.
