Abstract/Summary
Report on an evaluation comprised of 41 trial trenches, carried out in 2017 in advance of proposed development. 47 trenches were originally planned, 41 were excavated. A sequence of archaeological remains from prehistoric periods to modern times was recorded; a Mesolithic or Neolithic posthole and finds, Iron Age lead processing activities, early medieval or Saxon lead smelters and other features, and post medieval or undated probable agricultural features were all recorded.
