Finds made during the construction of Holker Road in 1903 include Roman coins, pottery, three hearths and a limestone paved area

Traces of Roman road were discovered at this location, and the course of the road [SMR 99030] has been estimated from this and a significant bump in the wall of Byron Street [see SMR 2866 also].
